Welcome to the Google Tablet Blog!

Welcome to the Google Tablet Blog! As you might know, Google I/O is beginning tomorrow (Wednesday, June 27th, 2012), and the big rumor is that Google will be introducing a tablet. As of yet, there is no name (popular speculation points to "Google Nexus Tablet", as the Nexus moniker is the name of the official Google brand of Android devices), and the details are few and far between. Here is what we do know (unofficially):

- Asus, maker of the Transformer line of tablets, is likely to be the manufacturer.
- The price is speculated to be $199 for the 8GB version, and $249 for the 16GB version.
- Display specs: 7" screen, 1280 x 800 resolution.
- Hardware specs: Quad-core Tegra 3 processor, clocked at 1.3GHz with 1GB of RAM.
- Will be the first device to show off the next version of Android, codename "Jellybean".

That's all we know for now. Stay tuned to the blog, because I'm going to update it with pictures and video from Google's keynote announcement of the new Nexus tablet. It's definitely an exciting time to be an Android fan!
